Communication And Planning Are Critical In Every Business Climate

The term layoff continues to be used far to frequently within our business community. While we hope you have moved past the point where layoffs are necessary, if you haven’t, there are a few things to consider about the post layoff process to minimize the shock to your employees and achieve a smooth transition of work flow. Communicate frequently with your people about how the business is doing and tell them exactly what you need from them to improve matters. If layoffs are on the horizon, conduct detailed planning with management to ensure normal fulfillment of company obligations without overburdening employees and hurting morale. Conduct meetings with supervisors and remaining staff on a more frequent basis to monitor quality of work being done and ways to fill gaps.
